Facebook & Instagram Shops

Automated BookRouting to Facebook & Instagram

Bibliopolis does not currently support sending product data directly to Facebook Shops. However, we’ve added a feature in your website’s Control Panel that allows you to generate an export file, which can be easily uploaded into Facebook Shops.

In the future we plan to support the loading of data files via external URLs.

From your Control Panel, click on the My Site > Export Data option, and select Facebook Product Feed from the export menu. This will generated a tab delimited file that will be correctly formatted for import into a Facebook Data Source.

Setting Up Facebook Shops

Before adding inventory, you will need to ensure your Facebook Shops account is fully set up. You can follow the instructions provided at this URL:

https://www.facebook.com/business/help/268860861184453?id=1077620002609475

During the initial setup, Facebook will ask you to provide a checkout URL. When prompted, enter:

https://www.yourdomain.com/cart.php

Replacing 'yourdomain.com' with your own domain name.

All Bibliopolis sites have already been preconfigured to support the URL structure required by Facebook, allowing products to be added directly to your website’s shopping cart.

Adding a Data Source

Facebook Shops provides a few different ways to upload products. Our system currently supports one of these: creating a Catalog Data Source. You can create and manage this directly in Meta Commerce Manager.

  • Click on the Add Products button and select Data feed.
  • Select 'Upload from your Computer' and browse for the Facebook Export file that was generated from your website Control Panel.
  • Select your site currency, and click Upload.
  • After Uploading is complete, you can click on the Overview tab to review your data. If any data failed to load, you can review errors from this screen.
  • Click on the Products tab to browse the items added to your Shop.

NOTE: The Shop link will not be visible if you are viewing your own Business page from within your own Business Facebook or Instagram account. Other users will be able to see it. If you switch to your personal account, you should be able to view the shop on your Business page.
