A catalog is a saved list of inventory items. Once created, items can be added,
removed, or rearranged, and the catalog can be recalled, printed, copied, or merged.
4.1 CREATING A CATALOG

1. Assemble your desired records in the list view screen
2. Click the SAVE LIST button at the top of the list view screen
3. Name your catalog in the field provided
4. Click SAVE CATALOG — or choose an existing catalog name from the drop-down to
add this group to it
WARNING: SAVE LIST acts on ALL records in the current list — make sure you're not
accidentally creating a catalog of your entire inventory.
To create a SECTIONED catalog:
- Type a section name in the section field and select its position before
clicking SAVE CATALOG
- Repeat the SAVE LIST process with each new "found group" for additional sections
- Section assignments can be changed later on individual items
Tip: To start a catalog with just one item:
1. Search for the item
2. Click the LIST button on its entry screen to view it in list view
3. Click SAVE LIST and proceed as normal
4. Add additional items one by one afterward (see section 4.2)
4.2 WORKING WITH CATALOGS — CATALOG MANAGER

Accessing the Catalog Manager:
- Click the CATALOG MANAGER button on an item's history screen
- Choose CATALOGS from the Go menu
- Click CATALOGS in the navigation bar at the bottom of any screen
Adding items to an existing catalog:
- Click the item's HISTORY button in the Sub Navigation Bar
- In the CATALOGS section at the bottom, select the desired catalog from the
CATALOG NAME drop-down field
- If it is a sectioned catalog, also select the section and section name
Removing an item from a catalog:
- Click the red-circle icon at right of the item in the Catalog Manager
In the Catalog Manager you can:
- View items by selecting the catalog from the MY CATALOGS field (top left)
- Locate and remove duplicates (duplicate titles display in blue)
- Alphabetize and serialize (number) the catalog
- Delete an entire catalog
- Output (print/copy) a catalog
Managing quantities before output:
- Click the blue QTY column heading to refresh quantity data
- Remove zero-quantity items before serializing
SERIALIZE:
- Click SERIALIZE to sort the catalog (by section first, if applicable) and add
sequential serial numbers
- To reposition items manually after serializing: change the NUMBER field values
(e.g., swap "3" and "2") — click outside the field to see items reorder
- NOTE: Clicking SERIALIZE again will undo any manual reordering
Printing/copying a catalog:
- PREVIEW | PRINT: prints directly from BookHound
- COPY: copies the formatted catalog to the clipboard for pasting into email
or other software
- Appearance is controlled by selections in Preferences > Display
Navigation tip: Click the green arrow icon next to an item to jump to its inventory
detail screen. Use the BACK button in the Navigation Bar to return to the Catalog Manager.
Deleting an entire catalog:
- Choose DELETE THIS CATALOG from the Records menu
